Oirad Tumen Naadam the Western Mongolian Folklore Festival
The Festival was getting started in 2006 as a “Childrens Cultural Mini Festival” and changed into “Oirad Tumen’s Traditional Cultural Naadam Festival” in 2007 and it’s still happening until nowadays. It holds beside the OT tourist camp in every August 4th. At the moment this festival could become a children’s expecting event.
Purpose of Festival:
Ancient Mongolians used to illustrate their spirit by their incredible dancing , singing and khuumii(throat singing). There are many ethnic tribes in Mongolia and every tribe differs from each other by their culture and the Oirad is one of the western parts. The festival’s main purpose is to keep these cultures away from the modern culture in the future. And we hope that the festival could bring together all the rad people spread over the world and exchange their experience of culture. The most popular ancient Mongolian musical function are morin khuur(Horse headed fiddle), Tuuli, long song, short song and khuumii (throat singing) and dancing is by biology(differs in every part). All These Mongolian Traditional cultures are slightly disappearing as foreign culture enters, so we have decided to do everything to save it somehow.
